Account data: Your email address (used solely for authentication). We do not collect your name, phone number, or any other personally identifying information.

Usage data: Anonymous analytics such as page views and feature usage to improve the App. This data cannot be traced back to you.

User-generated content: Vents, responses, journal entries, and vault items you create within the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate your account and provide the service
  • To moderate content and enforce community guidelines
  • To provide AI-powered features (Comfort Coach, content categorization)
  • To improve the App through anonymous analytics

3. Anonymity

Vent is built on anonymity. Other users never see your email or any identifying information. You are represented only by your chosen profile emoji.

4. Data Retention

Vents & responses: Automatically deleted 48 hours after creation.

Journal entries: Stored until you delete them.

Vault items: Stored until you delete them.

Account data: Retained until you request account deletion.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. We may share anonymous, aggregated data for analytics purposes. Content may be processed by AI services for moderation and the Comfort Coach feature — this processing does not expose your identity.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Database access is protected by row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own data.

7. Your Rights

  • Access your personal data at any time through the App
  • Delete your journal entries and vault items
  • Request complete account deletion
  • Export your data upon request

8. Children's Privacy

Vent is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify users of significant changes through the App.
